The first and only international science school in Japan, Laurus International School of Science focuses on providing an interdisciplinary science, technology, engineering and maths curriculum in English, in addition to regular Japanese language lessons.
“By emphasising science experiments and observations, we form the basis for students’ critical thinking,” says Mami Hioki, head of school.
Each of the school’s kindergartens and preschools in Tokyo and Kanagawa, as well as its primary school in Mita, are staffed by a group of dedicated teachers.
“We devote ourselves to equipping children with the tools and knowledge they need for our rapidly changing world,” says Kiyomi Hioki, chairman. •
